Dallas » Texas » USA GuluWalk is back in Dallas, Texas for 2008! To date, Dallas participants have not only provided a voice for peace in northern Uganda, but their fundraising results have also helped towards raising over $1-million for children's programs on the ground in the war-torn region. GuluWalk Dallas is looking to provide even bigger and better support in 2008. Join in the push for peace!

Start Location: Flagpole on Bishop Blvd
Registration Begins: 10:00AM
Speaker: 11:30AM - Jessica Okello is the Women and Children Coordinator of ALARM Uganda and she will be speaking about the war effects in north Uganda and specifically, the effects the war has on women and children of these regions.
GuluWalk Start Time: 12:00PM
Walk Route: Mockingbird Ln, Hillcrest Ave.
End Location: Flagpole at 2pm
There is no registration fee, GuluWalk t-shirts will be for sale(cash and checks accepted) and those who raised $100 or more will receive free t-shirts.Water will be available for the walk, although we recommend bringing a plastic bottle for refills, and wearing long sleeved undershirts because of the chilly weather.Bring your family, friends and even pets for this event as we bring awareness to the ongoing war in north Uganda and its neighboring regions, as well as raise funds for the children of northern Uganda
Post-walk Events: There will be Ugandan beading for sale, and Ugandan Artist Fred Mutebi's artwork for exhibition and sale. Other events include Kroo Bay Initiative information table and Gideon Alorwoyie's internationally acclaimed African Percussion Ensemble of UNT will be performing.
